Job Description

The Traditional Trade Supervisor is responsible for driving sales growth, market execution, and distribution objectives across the assigned territory within the traditional trade channel. The role involves leading a team of sales representatives, maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring product availability and visibility, and executing company sales strategies to achieve business targets.
 
Responsibilities:

Supervision of Subordinates

  • Supervise the sales team in his area, evaluate their performance to ensure the efficiency of workflow.  Make sure that all the facilities needed to achieve the set objectives are available.
  • Recommend any training programs needed to develop the sales team in his area.

Budgets and Plans

  • Implement sales plans through defining both distribution areas and sales routes for each area. 
  • Set sales targets for each sales representative and distributor and make sure that each one understands and implements these targets

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement the company’s financial and sales polices in opening new accounts with clients, credit limits, ceilings and collection process

Operations, Standards and Policies

  • Develops an annual sales plan with the Channel Sales Manager to determine ways and means of achieving planned sales.
  • Establishes annual targets for individual accounts with action plan.
  • Develops monthly working and action plans as means of achieving targets.
  • Ensures the effective stock levels are always maintained in all accounts.
  • Ensures the products are displayed prominently in locations/positions and seeks to ensure correct stock rotation.
  • Reflects the company image and high standard ensuring customer good will is fostered by positive and professional presentation.
  • Handle all customer or dealer complaints satisfactorily
  • Communicate and inform the Channel Sales Manager regularly of sales progress being attained, market trends and competitive activity in his area.
  • Maintain that all required daily sales, activity, settlement, or any other reports are promptly and accurately prepared.  
  • Assure a complete and up - to date list of existing & potential customers for each area.
  • Follow - up & evaluate the activities of sales supervisors & sales representatives through monitoring the sales results to identify any deviation and try to fix it in the appropriate time.
  • Follow up on the delivery process to customers, work on the collection process according to the company’s financial and sales policies.
  • Rationalize sales’ costs by ensuring economy of scale in relation to sales routes and transportation expenses.
  • Report any comments or suggestions by customers, sales team or his own to the sales manager.
  • Monitor the competitors’ marketing campaign for the competitors and report any new products in the market.
  • Follow up the implementation of the company’s promotion campaign in his area.

Reporting

  • Prepare the periodical sales reports and submit them to the sales manager. Inform him about sales visits and area coverage

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Academic and professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s from a recognized university.

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in an FMCG company.
